Google Alerts already offers this possibility. You can receive an overview of the latest news on various items per search. At the moment you only have three options: immediate, daily or weekly updates. Now it’s a matter of waiting until this possibility exists on demand. That way you can compose your own medium by Google Glass (such as a newspaper) including your favorite topics as content. Would there be less bad news in the paper? That's up to you!
